Independence Review

Our independence review can act as an important safeguard against conflicts of interest or independence issues such as where the audit fee for a client represents a significant proportion of total practice income.

An independence review is more extensive than an individual hot file review and will cover the following:

  • a review of your firm's procedures to identify independence issues
  • a review of a sample of audit files to ensure objectivity and independence are evidenced in the performance of audit procedures
  • an interview with partners, managers and independently selected members of the audit team.

At the end of the review you will receive an invaluable face to face debrief meeting and a full written report will follow which includes the key findings, conclusions on adequacy of internal procedures and where necessary, will highlight areas in which safeguards can be improved.
